OneTweet

OneTweet has a very basic goal; Implicitly prevent duplicate tweets from showing up in Timelines. Some Twitter handles, ahem, Hacker News, insist on posting the same (or nearly the same) tweet hours apart. This extension keeps a record of tweets you've scrolled past and hides new tweets that share the same content as a Tweet in the record. OneTweet does make some effort to recognise that "10 ways to say I love you" and "10 Ways to say I love U" are semantically the same, but there is room for improvement here. The extension will work in the background, and can only look at Twitter pages in order to hide tweets.
