SafePay

SafePay allows users to store and sync payment info in a secure, decentralized network. With this extension, users don't need to store their payment information on centralized servers (Amazon, eBay, etc.) where it can be vulnerable to leaks and hackers. Users can log in through BlockStack to access their account from any device running Chrome. Once in, users can view their stored payment methods and also add new payment info through a form, which is then stored in BlockStack's decentralized storage system. How BlockStack's storage system works: metadata is stored on BlockStack’s blockchain, while the actual card information is encrypted and stored in a decentralized manner in each user's Gaia hub. This layered approach is much faster than storing and reading data from a conventional blockchain, and at the same time, no central parties are involved. This ensures that each user’s information is truly in their own hands.
