Chrome extension to deliver web filtering to devices enrolled in the UK Department for Education deployment of Chromebooks for children in the county of Derbyshire who are receiving these devices as part of the DfE's CoVID19 response. The Department for Education has announced a major package of support for vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people across England, during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The delivery of the equipment will be phased, with priority initially being given to care leavers and children with a social worker. This custom Netsweeper Client Filter for Chrome allows the Derbyshire County Council service to ensure that Chromebook managed guest sessions run a Netsweeper Filtering service integrated to their centrally managed filtering service on the ukcloud.netsweeper.com platform. The Netsweeper Chrome Client Filter will send all URL requests to a Netsweeper Policy Service to filter each URL when installed. When using the Netsweeper Client Filter the following data is transmitted to the Policy Service for filtering purposes: The complete URL of each web request and all elements on a web page The IP address of the workstation as seen by the Policy Service The sole purpose of the Netsweeper Client Filter is to filter all URL requests and to extend the Netsweeper Policy Service and Client Filter platform to the Chrome browser.
